This is one of the experimental records of the album, it mixes the lyric (we recorded 2 lyrics in the studio), the hang drum, the piano, the strings with a second minimal electronic part mixed with the lyric and the strings.
There are samples of the wind of Mars and the fish market of Catania and more …
But it all comes from the “Giro di Peppe”.
Here is this record in Italian would be called the “Giro di Colombo”.
It all comes from a dinner with my son, Lorenzo, where he asked me “Dad but what does it mean to do il giro di Peppe?” (typical Roman expression).
Me: “It means when you go from one place to another making a very long nonsense ride” (why people say “giro di Peppe” is still a mistery though “.
Lorenzo: “Then there is also the Giro di Colombo” ..
Me: “what do you mean?”
Lorenzo: “When you are looking for something, and instead you find a more beautiful one”
Me: “Lory, can I write a song about it?”
And then “Columbus’ Round” was born.
DIRECTOR: Stefano Casertano
The scent of art.
“Do you feel it? It’s the scent of art”
These are the words of Stefano Casertano, our director, and protagonist of the video, while, making the slow motion that you see in the video, breaks a bottle, throwing it against the wall, which unfortunately fell apart under the violence of the blow.
Moral, we had to renovate the studio. But for art, this and more.
“the scent of art …”
